QLD: Remand prisoner found dead in cell

A 45-year-old remand prisoner has been found dead in his cell at a Brisbane jail.

The Queensland Department of Corrective Services says the man was found hanging in
his cell at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre at 6.45am (AEST).

Prison staff attempted to revive the man, but he was declared dead about 20 minutes later.

Departmental staff and police have launched an investigation into his death.
