NSW: Ten women detained in brothel raid
SYDNEY, Dec 12 AAP - Police raided a brothel in Sydney's east overnight, arresting10 women found to be in Australia illegally.
Police, officers from the South East Asian Crime Unit and immigration department officialsraided the brothel in Cathedral Street, at Woolloomooloo, about 10.30pm (AEDT) yesterday.
Ten women found to be unlawful non-citizens were detained and were this morning inthe custody of the immigration department.
Police also arrested at least four women for soliciting in the Forbes and Bourke streetareas of East Sydney, with the operation continuing through the morning.
The women were charged with soliciting offences and were granted conditional bail toappear in court next month.
