Qld: Man showing SARS symptoms taken to Qld hospital
BRISBANE, April 25 AAP - A man showing symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS) has been taken to a Brisbane hospital, authorities said today.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man, aged in his early 20s, hadrecently travelled to Canada, Singapore and Japan.
The spokeswoman said he was staying in a Brisbane motel when he became ill with SARSsymptoms including high fever and shortness of breath.
She said the man was transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital about 1.30am (AEST) andall precautions had been taken to prevent any spread of the deadly disease.
SARS has infected some 4,630 people and killed about 261 worldwide.
